We need to get everyone in our group to call or write a very short note expressing the personal value of having May designated as Celiac Awareness Month in California. They will be voting next week.
I do not know how I can make it any easier for you. (Only 5 of you said they sent a email last week)! If you write your senator they should respond to you!!!

Examples of things to put in a note to the Senator:
1) The importance of shining a light on Celiac so that we can get our kids tested.
2) Designating May as Celiac Awareness Month in CA will help us get more exposure, which will help us raise awareness
3) Celiac can affect every member of a family. It is inherited.
4) 1 in 133 people have celiac but 97% have not been diagnosed, so they are usually very sick.
5). Even if you are very sick it takes about 10 years to be diagnosed.
6). This is the only autoimmune disease that they know the trigger and cure. A gluten Free diet. There is no medicine.
7). Your story
Please ask your Senator to pass the Proclamation “May as Celiac Awareness Month in California.
It can be the sentence above plus one of the above ideas. Just asking to pass the proclamation is a vote in our favor.
