Altadena Community Garden Organics
This Saturday is a special event with expert healthy chef, Kelly Keough, at the Altadena Community Garden. www.altadenacommunitygarden.com
There are a range of gardeners from novice to expert and they come planting seeds and using techniques from all over the world spanning from Africa to the deep south of the US.
Kelly’s friend and peer, Jule, is a gardener at the Altadena Community Garden and wants to share Kelly’s raw vegan healthy and delicious recipes with the eclectic group of gardeners in hopes of inspiring new health expansion in this amazing gardening community.

Rancho Gordo
Very rare are the Speckled Christmas Lima Beans that grow in the garden and are also sold at RanchoGordo.com.
As one of the highlights of the class, Kelly will be sprouting these limas, cooking them with kombu, and also making a hummus with them.
These Speckled Christmas Limas are low in starch and have a chestnut flavor. We will combine them with chickpeas and many other gourmet ingredients for a humming hummus. You will also try first hand a new line of herbs medicinals that Kelly will add to the mix.

And since there is so much kale being produced in the garden, Jule suggested Kelly do her Kale and Peanut Butter Goji salad.
This class is sure to be eye opening, fun, and educational as the local gardeners will most definitely enhance the class with their gardening expertise and at the same time may be taking their first bites of raw vegan.
